    Whether you're a tech lead, a developer or a technically minded tester, this workshop will help youΒ elevateΒ skills core toΒ quality software development.


    Join us for a β€œserious fun” one-day challenge based around a coding puzzle-of-the-day.Β Past "code katas" include: Game of Life, Mars Rover API,Β Scoring 10-pin bowling, text formatting, and more.

    This workshop is for you if you want to:

    • experience true technical collaboration
    • work throughΒ technical collaboration issues in a fun, gamified format
    • deepen your understanding of Test-Driven Design/Development (TDD) and pairing through hands-on, iterative learning
    • rediscover the fun in software development and bring that spark into your professional work

    This practical event that will help you build towards mastery inΒ two key skill areas that areΒ foundational toΒ modern approaches likeΒ Continuous IntegrationΒ andΒ Continuous DeliveryΒ (CI/CD):

    • Test-Driven Design / Development, andΒ 
    • Pair programming

    TheyΒ have their roots in the most technically rigorous Agile Software Development approach: eXtreme Programming (XP).

    What should I bring?

    Bring a laptop withΒ a working development environment and programming language that you are comfortable in*Β and a unit testing framework. Please have an empty project running a single unit test ready to go.

    *Examples will be given in pseudocode, perhapsΒ Python and JavaScript, but the workshop is programming language agnostic.
