Event description
On the 1st of May 6PM - 8PM, the BIPOC Department is hosting an educational panel 'What is Happening in Palestine?'. There will be a Q/A at the end and catering provided!
This panel is in response to the recognition of urgent need for awareness and understanding, to educate the ANU community (including both students and staff), about the crucial human right concerns in Palestine. We will be having a constructive, inclusive, and safe dialogue with:
- Dr Ben Silverstien
- Ruba Nazzal

The ANU BIPOC Department acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the lands across Country. We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the lands that we operate on and which we will be meeting on, the Ngunnawal and Ngambri peoples. We pay our respects to Elders past and present who shall forever be part of the lands, skies, and rivers of this place. We acknowledge that this land was stolen and sovereignty was never ceded. Palestinians in Gaza suffer the atrocities of a genocide, but we must never forget that our First Peoples on these lands continue to suffer at the hands of Australia's colonial government. When we speak of Palestinian liberation we must also demand for Indigenous sovereignty
