Palestine Under Siege- Film plus Q & A
Event description
The film ‘Palestine Under Siege’ is a new documentary film which takes you into the heart of the struggle for Palestinian self-determination.
Filmed in June and July 2023, in both the West Bank and Jerusalem, this 60 minute film features Australians, Dr Peter Slezak, UNSW Honorary Associate Professor of Philosophy and his two companions, Rand Darwish, Australian Palestinian student and former Greens Senator, Lee Rhiannon. The filmmakers spent time talking to Palestinians and Jews in Lebanon and Palestine on the themes of the 1948 Nakba, settler colonialism and the apartheid nature of the Israeli state.
The film will be followed by a Q and A with one of the film's creators plus a representative of the Australia Palestine Advocacy Network (APAN). This is a unique opportunity to view this recently completed film and ask questions.
Tea and coffee will be available after the film.
Proceeds from ticket sales will go to APAN and to the film makers, who are working on a film about the current situation in Palestine.
