Palestine Under Siege - film screening and Q&A panel

Amnesty International North-East Metro Group and Menzies for Palestine invite you to attend this thought-provoking documentary film screening.
Palestine Under Siege is a documentary film shot in mid-2023 in the West Bank, East Jerusalem and Israel, which takes you into the heart of the struggle for Palestinian self-determination. It highlights the human rights abuses suffered by the Palestinian people from the time of the 1948 Nakba, via personal interviews and in-depth research. Palestinian and Jewish human rights activists speak about the movement to dismantle Israeli apartheid.
The screening will be followed by a Q&A panel featuring guests:
- Dr Bushra Othman, Palestinian-Australian surgeon who recently returned from volunteering in Deir Al-Balah, Gaza.
- Dr Samah Sabawi, award-winning Palestinian Australian playwright, author and poet.
- Dr Peter Slezak, Jewish -Australian professor of philosophy, UNSW (joining online)
Doors open at 6.30 pm and the film will commence at 7 pm. The Q&A session will run until 9:15 pm.
