Palms Solidarity Awards is an opportunity to honour those who have made a special contribution to the Palms mission, including this year our recently retired Palms Executive DirectorĀ Roger OāHalloran.
In addition to providing an opportunity to gather with familiar faces and meet new allies and friends, ourĀ Guest SpeakerĀ EmeldaĀ (Waskam)Ā Davis, Chairwomen of the Australian South Sea Islanders (Port Jackson), will share with us a moving and largely untold story of Australian and Pacific Island continuing history.
Emelda is proud of her diverse indigenous ancestry as as second-generation Australian South Sea Islander of First Nations and Caribbean descent.Ā She has worked for federal, state, community and grassroots organisations where she has exhibited diverse expertise in community development, education, training, media, and marketing.
