An Update from Panorama Theatre Company

We wanted to check in on our Panorama Family and Friends. We hope you are doing well. We have enjoyed seeing many of you performing online gigs, producing a Tiktoks, teaching a dance class or learning/working at home. We have marvelled at your creativity and we feel a great sense of pride in your resilience and determination to find ways to entertain and express yourself in these difficult times.

We are here to ask you for some help. Many of you know that less than two weeks before our 50+ strong cast were due to hit the Frankston Arts Centre (FAC) stage to perform Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, the government introduced restrictions and closed all performance spaces for an indefinite period.

We rehearsed Chitty for 6 months. We sewed and sourced costumes; we sawed, hammered, welded and painted our sets; we plotted lighting and sound; we photographed the cast and produced our program; we held full dress rehearsals and experienced goose bumps when our talented orchestra rehearsed with the cast for the first time. We had drawn up front and back of house rosters and assembled an experienced crew. We even polished the fender of the Chitty car until it gleamed and then….Covid-19 hit.

In April 2021, we hope to perform Chitty at FAC and we will let you know as soon as tickets are available.

We can’t wait to see you again and until then, we will keep a stage light burning.
