2nd PANZ Community Service Awards 2022
Event description
Asalaam-o-Alaikum / Kia Ora
Respected Community Members,
Pakistan Association of New Zealand (PANZ) Team has consulted with the key stakeholders, guests, and advisory board members. After considering the surge in the cases of omicron, especially in Auckland. PANZ team has decided to postpone the PANZ Community Service Award 2022.
PANZ recognizes that we’re in a challenging situation. Continuing with large indoor and outdoor gatherings will put the community members and the award operational team at risk and make things more difficult for our health care staff and the current system, which is already overwhelmed. The Omicron variant has spread worldwide rapidly and is much more transmissible than previous variants of the COVID-19 virus. So, we must play our part by minimizing the large social gathering to stop the spread.
PANZ will announce the new date for the award function after re-accessing the COVID situation in the forthcoming months. Also, PANZ will re-open the nominations after announcing the new date. So that more and more community members can nominate the people if they have missed out due to this current uncertain situation.
PANZ has received some great nominations in each category over the past few weeks, and they are currently with the award selection committee. All those nominations will remain active when the new date for the award is announced, so there is no need to send the nomination again if you have already submitted one previously.
Lastly, PANZ would like to thank the community for recognising the heroes of our community by nominating them. PANZ would also like to acknowledge the time and effort the award operational team has put into this award event and also to our sponsors and guests who have always extended their support and shown interest in this event.
