Event description

Create something extraordinary from simple and accessible materials using papier-mâché and paint.

In this workshop spread across two half-days, artist Kim Barter will share her step-by-step process for creating an Australian native bird sculpture. Day 1: Build your bird’s form and express its character with wire and papier-mâché. Day 2: Paint your bird, discovering its unique personality along the way.

This workshop is ideal for people aged 16+ years. No experience is necessary. All materials and tools will be provided.

What to Bring:
Wear clothes you don't mind getting a bit of paste and paint on or bring an old apron to wear.

Tutor:
I am a full-time artist living in Central Victoria. My work is about my personal need to communicate. I value the processes of my work. I love the layers within ourselves. I love mark making and gestural drawing and greatly admire the work of children. They illustrate truth and innocence in their work.
