Description

Experience the fun of crafting an impressive 3D geometric paper magpie sculpture! This will be a rewarding project for animal lovers and will be shown at both the Creative Streets and Black Gully Festivals — the magnificent magpie being the latter festival’s mascot.

What is Paper Craft?

Low poly paper craft is a 3D physical art form made of flat paper polygons and straight creases. It mimics digital "low polygon" 3D computer graphics by reducing complex organic shapes into faceted geometric structures.

What to expect?

The workshop is 3 hours long and is medium difficulty with cutters and super glue being used. Starting with a flat printed 2D pattern containing numbered tabs, solid cut lines, and dotted fold lines. The maker by cutting out the pieces, score the folds, and glue matching numbers together sequentially will create a rigid, angular geometric sculpture. The finished magpies will be shown at Creative Streets Festival Opening Night in East Mall.
