Paper Craft Gift Boxes & Cards Workshop with Sadia Bouzegane
Event description
Join us for our last Saturday workshop of the year with guest facilitator, Sadia Bouzegane, who will show you how to salvage paper off-cuts into beautiful origami pillow boxes and cards.
Using an array of salvaged materials from buttons, ribbons, paper and other unique embellishments, Sadia will help you create a collection of boxes and cards in a variety of sizes that will be ready to gift for Christmas.
We'll provide all the tools and materials. If you have sentimental papers or buttons that you've been saving for a special occasion, you're welcome to bring them along.
Sadia will also show you how to use every inch of your paper to ensure a zero waste construction.
Light afternoon tea will be provided.
About Sadia
Sadia is Reverse Garbage Queensland's Emporium Coordinator and owner of Bagua Lala, jewellery and stationery art business whose signature is to salvage vintage and unique buttons into bespoke pieces.
"[The buttons] come from everywhere and all of them are special,"said Sadia.
"Some I found while travelling, others I received as donations. Most of them have a story: where they are from, the relationship I had with the person who gave them to me, why I chose them, the material, the colour".
Most recently Sadia took on the role as Designer and Model Liaison for the Refashion and Wearable Art showcases at Reverse Garbage Queensland's 2022 WornOUT? Exhibition, curating a selection of beautifully handmade garments by 40 eco creatives from across South East Queensland.
