Paper Making & Book Binding Workshop

This workshop is being delivered from a sustainability-focused creative waste-reduction perspective and involves engaging in repurposed papermaking, then creating a book suitable for journaling, as a photo album, or a notebook from a range of repurposed and upcycled papers. We will use gentle slow stitching to incorporate your pages into a bound book.

Wearing art clothing/apron if you wish is suggested. 

Leisa Antonio-Hearps, the heart and soul behind Healing India Creative Arts, established in 2006 in Perth WA, is committed to sustainable artistry, contemporary creativity, and respectfully encompassing traditional Indian-inspired influences across her creative art practice.

Leisa enjoys facilitating multidisciplinary creative art workshops in our local community and she has been awarded Local community art awards for her designs in Basketry, Glass art, and Jewellery. With a rich background in fostering community through her studies in Social sciences combined with professional development and studies in dressmaking, and art, she always offers an inviting inclusive space for all to explore their artistic abilities while emphasizing the importance of environmental care.

Our weekly Farmer's Market will be happening during your workshop, so bring your shopping bags and pick up some fresh, organic produce from local growers while you're there.

Perth City Farm is a community urban farm that supports connected, sustainable communities. Established on a former industrial site in East Perth, this polluted site has been lovingly rehabilitated by volunteers to become a Western Australian icon for environmental sustainability and community engagement. We provide space and opportunities to build community connections, and educate and enable people to live sustainably.
