Parade and Peel - With Emmeline Spankhurts

Learn the sassy and alluring art of the Parade and Peel!

Join this Open Level course over 6 weeks and discover the ways to move across a stage, create beautiful shapes and tantalise an audience with tease. The Parade and Peel is a cornerstone of traditional burlesque from the Golden Era of Hollywood and Burlesque. Evoke the glamour of the 40s & 50s, and command the stage as part of a group routine, showing off your best assets.

No previous experience required.

What: 6 week course (performance may be available, performing is optional) 

When: Monday nights 7-8pm starting Monday 19 February through until Monday 25 March

Where: K&V Dance, 6 Boyle St, Sutherland

Wear: Loose comfortable clothes you can move in, activewear welcome. Bring dance heels if you own any.

Cost: Book and pay for the full course for $180+bf or pay week to week ahead of class, $35/class+bf

Many moons ago Emmeline Spankhurts sauntered onto the stage with a martini in hand and a strong case of resting b*tch face, got distracted by something shiny and forgot to leave. Her performances tease, titillate, and terrify balancing on the tightrope between the ridiculous and the delightful with a flair for the dramatic. Audiences are kept guessing if she really, really likes them or if she’s going to destroy them with the fury of 1000 suns. She can make grown men cry with the raise of an eyebrow and thick thighs to smash the patriarchy.
