Built on Whanaungatanga: The Push Fitness Journey
Join us for our next Parakuihi Pakihi as we welcome the four founders behind Push Fitness.
Founded in December 2025 by local couples Adam and Amy Laititi, alongside Shaun and Teish Graham, Push Fitness was built on a simple idea: bringing good people together, doing good things, and creating a space where people can grow physically, mentally and socially.
What started as conversations around a notebook at a bach in Tongapōrutu has grown into one of Taranaki's newest fitness communities, guided by values of whanaungatanga, manawaroa and hauora. Fitness may be the gateway, but Push's focus extends far beyond exercise, supporting people to move well, think well and live well.
Each founder brings a different thread to the Push story. Adam’s background in the trades, personal training, rugby, jiu jitsu and endurance sport gives him a first-hand understanding of strength, recovery and the pressures many working people carry. Amy brings international business experience and a sharp understanding of workplace culture, wellbeing and productivity. Shaun’s years of coaching, his experience rebuilding strength after cancer, and his steady commitment to helping people move well shape the way he supports members at every stage. Teish brings more than a decade in the fitness industry, a passion for helping people realise what they are capable of, and a deep belief in celebrating the small wins that build confidence and belonging.
What to expect?
At this breakfast event, you’ll hear the story behind the creation of Push Fitness, the challenges and opportunities of launching a new business, and how the founders have intentionally built a community-first culture that prioritises connection, wellbeing and belonging. Guests will hear how their personal experiences across trades, business, coaching, mental health, injury, recovery and whānau life have shaped a gym that looks beyond physical fitness alone. You’ll also hear about initiatives such as Ngā Tāne, a free monthly kaupapa creating a safe space for men to train, connect and share kai, along with their latest community programme Push10 starting October 5th.
Whether you’re a business owner, entrepreneur, community leader or simply interested in building stronger, healthier workplaces and communities, this kōrero will offer practical insights and inspiration for creating meaningful impact through business, service and genuine care for people.
