Parasonic vol. 1
Description
Subsistence and Land Street Gallery present Parasonic, a new event series delving into underground sounds from Magandjin and beyond.
Our first volume features an eclectic grouping of aural travelers.
Rebecca Lloyd-Jones’ sonic structures for percussion and beyond rotate in thin air, revealing facet after facet. Her patchworks of slight movements and ear-boggling tones are best experienced up close.
Known for guitar duties in beloved Valve, Kade Perkovic-Ride has recently let us in on their meticulous, labyrinthine constructions for solo guitar - harmonic mazes to lose oneself in.
Amanda Terry travels dread landscapes for violin, percussion and electronics. Expect anything between bubbling, screeching microsounds and room-rattling death drones.
Tickets for Parasonic Vol. 1 are $18, with free entry for First Nations listeners. Land Street Gallery is wheelchair accessible and has a lift at the entrance.
