This 90-minute session with Holly Brooker from Makes Sense Aotearoa equips parents/caregivers with practical tools and up-to-date insights on emerging trends to help them understand their role in guiding their kids through the complex digital world.
Key topics covered include:
The online landscape: why and how young people are using tech, including insights on screen time, gaming, YouTube, and social media use.
Understanding online risks: the 4 C’s: Content, Conduct, Contact & Contract.
Practical strategies: filtering, house rules, whānau values, connection, knowing our kids, and conversation.
Q&A
This talk is grounded in research, stories, and support, and will leave participants hopeful and empowered to manage the balance of tech with family life.
