    Event description

Join us for a meaningful discussion at a special workshop exploring how the wisdom our Jewish traditions and values offers can inform mindful parenting with Parenting Coach & Educator Maura Eden.

Come together and be nurtured in community as we explore what it means to raise our children in light of Jewish values and wisdom. To be Jewish is to ask questions (Bronfman) and we will dive into some wonderful ones!

What does it mean to raise a mensch?

We will explore our understanding of the word and how it relates to parenting approaches.

Where does honoring thy mother and father begin?

Hint: With honoring ourselves!! We will learn some simple techniques and ways to ground and calm and take our emotional temperature as well our children’s emotional temperature?

What are our values? How do our values help us to set clear boundaries?

It’s so much easier to set limits when we have clarity of the values and communicate them to our entire family.

    Do you remember the stories?

Our Jewish traditions are full of stories and play. Stories and play create relationships, joy and connection.

What are the ways we can parent in light of the concept of Shalom Bayit (peaceful home) and how does Tikkun Olam (repairing the world) show up in parenting?

These are examples of essential questions that will guide us through an hour and half  of learning, discussion, mutual relaxation, reflection and fun! You will take away both food for thought and concrete tools to grow as a parent/caregiver through a Jewish lens on parenting.
