Parents as Partners: Adair Donaldson
Event description
Career blockers – the impact of misconduct
In the interactive workshop Adair will draw on his 27 years’ experience working with organisations like the National Rugby League and Universities Australia to explore how students and parents can be taking steps to minimise the impact that codes of conduct, social media, mobile phones, discrimination, harassment, sexual harassment and DFV can have on their future careers. It does not matter what industry your child is hoping to pursue a career in as every industry is being challenged by these issues. Anyone who has seen Adair present knows that it will be engaging, thought provoking and entertaining. It is a chance for parents to take time to reflect and learn from others’ experiences. Adair will also be addressing the rise of AI image abuse and educating parents in relation to the law associated with it.
Every parent needs to know:
Creating or sharing sexualised AI content without consent (especially involving minors) is a criminal offence.
Under federal and state laws, it may be prosecuted as image-based abuse or child abuse material, with serious, lasting consequences
Schools are legally obligated to report this behaviour to the police. No exceptions.
This is not “just a joke” or “banter”. It’s a legal and ethical minefield with devastating fallout for both the victim and the creator.
