Partnering for Nature
Event description
Come to the launch of Partnering for Nature, an ambitious new biodiversity project for Tauranga Moana.
Join us for this breakfast session (we may even get to enjoy the dawn chorus!) to explore the benefits of Partnering for Nature across our region. Biodiversity loss is a significant global challenge so we want to tackle it on our own treasured whenua in the Bay of Plenty. Our economy relies on our natural systems, as does our community wellbeing. We will provide an insight into the need to restore biodiversity, the range of opportunities and different ways you can invest in nature locally, plus highlight some great business-community partnerships that already support local nature outcomes. We’d also love to hear from you, about what motivates your business and what support you need to get involved.
The Sustainable Business Network (SBN) will provide an overview of its research, including findings around the desire for businesses to engage in nature, motivators for businesses, benefits of investing in nature, and the value that building good partnerships can bring to both business and community.
Speakers from Zespri, Matariki Forests and Ballance Agri-Nutrients will share the stories of their involvement in nature projects, outlining challenges and positive outcomes, then take questions as a panel.
