Event description

Don't miss this year's exciting PASCOE AWARDS FINALISTS CONCERT when our region's most talented young classical musicians (aged between 14 and 24) take to the stage at the beautifully renovated Bowral Memorial Hall on FRIDAY 15 NOVEMBER, 2024.

The Eva Pascoe Award was created in 2023 in loving memory of the late Mrs. Eva Pascoe by her husband, Dr. Timothy Pascoe AM, to encourage and nurture our young local musicians. Sadly, Timothy died later the same year, so it is the Highlands Music Collective's wish to honour our dear Founding Patrons by offering Pascoe Awards in both their names.

This year, the judges will choose the 2025 Eva Pascoe Award recipient, who will receive $3000 to aid their musical development, plus concert engagements and mentorship with the Highlands Music Collective. They will also give each finalist $200 and a 2025 Timothy Pascoe Encouragement Award.

The Pascoe Awards will be judged by Highlands Music Collective's Artistic Director/violinist Myee Clohessy, pianist Lisa Kawai, and flautist Aaron Smart.

Past recipients of the Eva Pascoe Award:
2023 - violinist Cedar-Rose Newman performed with Highlands Music Collective at the Bowral Autumn Music Festival, Wollongong Art Gallery, Canberra Wesley Centre, and the Pascoe Awards Finalists' Concert. Cedar used her $3000 Eva Pascoe Award to record with renowned concert pianist Simon Tedeschi.

2024 - pianist Luke Bowen performed with Highlands Music Collective at Vienna Gold at the Bowral Memorial Hall, Braille Music Camp Fundraiser at St Jude's Church, Music Soireé at Rose Recital Room and a private home in Kangaroo Valley. Luke used his $3000 Eva Pascoe Award for public speaking courses and masterclasses with Robert Constable AM.

Past recipients of the Timothy Pascoe Encouragement Awards
:
2024 - Fin Torpy, flute; Oscar Dunn-Luck, piano; Charlotte Blake, flute; Sophie Chen, piano; Samantha Roberts, flute

Please join us for this exciting annual event and support these talented young musicians by being their much-needed audience!

DOORS WILL OPEN AT 5.45 pm for complimentary refreshments!

CONCERTS STARTS AT 6.30 pm and finishes by 7.45 pm.
