Event description

This Lino Patch Workshop is a supporting event part of the VISIT PALESTINE - Poster Project Exhibition, Volume 6, for the first time in so-called Australia, running from 1st to 17th August at Black Spark in Naarm.

EXHIBITION OVERVIEW: Since 2022, Visit Palestine Poster Project has traveled across Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, now making its way to so-called Australia. Showcasing a selection of rare and ORIGINAL posters of Palestinian resistance spanning the 1970-1990, each poster exhibited stands as an undeniable testament to the 77+ year fight for Palestinian self-determination and liberation.

SUPPORTING WORKSHOP
In an effort to spend time with these profound posters and continue to raise funds we are hosting a Lino Fabric Patch workshop! We will skillshare beginner friendly techniques and provide all materials need for creating. The resistance posters will be our inspiration and you will walk away with your own lino plate and fabric patches ready to share and wear!

We have tried to make the tickets as cheap as possible with our base pricing being cheaper then all workshops we have found out in the wild where the cheapest was $70! Places are limited with only 15 spots available.

FUNDRAISING
Proceeds raised from this exhibition and supporting events will go towards Palestine, Sudan, and First Nations mutual aids, with a percentage also going to keeping future Visit Palestine exhibitions traveling throughout different cities across so-called australia, ensuring organising is a possibility to all who can and want to share these posters, without the financial burden of self-funding.

This event will be taking place on stolen Wurundjeri land. Sovereignty was never ceded. This land always was and always will be Aboriginal Land.
