Event description
We invite you to an inspiring event, Pathways to Future Education, designed for young people experiencing out-of-home care who are considering university and TAFE, as well as their carers and support networks. This unique event will help young people explore the supportive and inclusive community at university.
When: Friday, 15th November 2024, 10am – 2pm
Where: Deakin University, Geelong Waurn Ponds Campus
Cost: Free
Catering: Lunch will be provided
This event offers a valuable opportunity for young people with a care background to discover pathways to success and build a sense of belonging in higher education. Attendees will connect with a network of organisations and individuals committed to supporting them academically, personally, and professionally.
What's on offer:
- Inspirational speakers, including current university students with care experience
- Interactive workshops to help identify the right course for the future
- Info sessions tailored to further education opportunities
- Event packs with helpful Deakin resources, scholarship opportunities for young people with out-of-home care experiences, and a letter from a care-experienced student currently studying.
