FAQs

• What games will be offered?

  Games will feature systems created by queer designers, ranging from high fantasy to cosmic sci‑fi with GMs representing the community. See below for current options, and more titles to be finalized!

  GM: Lisa Hartman (she/her) @episodic.adventures

  System: Good Society - A collaborative Jane Austen-inspired regency roleplaying experience about romance, reputation, and navigating scandal and desire.

  Session Title: Gay Society

  Session Descriptions: At the first annual ball of the Lavender Stockings Society, intrigue, expectations, and maybe even romance drift through the ballroom. We’ll weave a web of complications for our characters as we explore what a “good society” means within a queer community. Expect elegant soirées, impeccable manners, messy relationships, and the looming weight of social expectations — all shaped by the delightful surprises players bring to the table and the way the cards conspire with (and against) our shenanigans.

  Content Warnings: Classism, romance. We can also choose to play with (and subvert) traditional Recency expectations of gender and sexuality, or make our own twist in how our characters experience queerness in our setting.

  System: Pasión de las Pasiones - A system to allow you and your friends to play out the greatest telenovela to ever air.

  Session Title: It's One Heart, Manuel, What Could It Cost?

  Description: Take on a dramatic role in a chaotic wedding at an extravagant hotel - from a mysterious missing ex (or two!) to the wealthy spouse-to-be, a distraught doubly-beloved, a scheming twin, or a parent determined to force this union. Expect a fast, messy, telenovela-level drama. If you enjoy lying, betraying, and clashing while cheering each other on, this is the game for you.

  System: Triangle Agency - A surreal corpo-paranormal game where players act as agents working for a reality-controlling organization.

  Session Title: Priorities

  Session Description: A group of Agents meet a lonely girl, and have to take away what's making her happy. You can expect a game about choices, debates, and moral tension where you will have to interpret clues, argue over the right course of action, and decide how far you are willing to go to fix reality.

  Content Warnings: Violent depictions of transphobia from parental figures, mild depictions of homophobia from children

  System: Lichcraft - A satirical rules-light system inspired by Blades in the Dark. Give this a try if you like magic-wielding queer characters, casting spells with your own style, and fighting the Tories.

  Session Title: One Late Night to Immortality

  Session Description: The year is 2069, and the Tories have been in power since 2010. Due to NHS cuts, the waiting list for a first appointment at a gender identity clinic is now 300 years. You will get to the end of that waiting list, even if it means becoming immortal. You've already lived 30ish years in this body - what's another millenia?

  System: Reel Fear - A rules-lite survival horror game where players take on the roles of actors cast in a horror film. Use your "Rewrites" to stay alive while the director tries their best to make your death ...horrific.

  Session Title: Camp Carver 3

  Session Description: In this campy horror flick, a group of camp counselors make their way to Camp Emergence, led by their head counselor, Darcy. The place should be hustling and bustling, but when they arrive, they find a ghost town. It’s quiet. Too quiet.

  Game System: WARDEN - A Cinematic and Genre-Agnostic d20 RPG, built on the bones of Pathwarden. It allows you to create any story you like.

  Session Title: Queer Times Online

  Session Description: Queer Times Online is about queer side-quest in what seems to be an unremarkable beta MMO called Worlds Collide Online!

  Content Warnings: Slight mentions of queerphobia and kidnapping.

  Game System: Masks: A New Generation - An ENnie-award winning superhero roleplaying game in which a team of young heroes fights villains, saves lives, and tries to figure out who they are—noble paragons? Dark avengers? Or regular kids?

  Session Title: Night At the Museum

  Session Description: It's time for our teen heroes to go on a field trip to the Halcyon City Museum of Natural History, but what happens when the exhibits start coming to life...?

  Game System: D&D 5E - Dungeons & Dragons is a popular role-playing game focusing on high fantasy settings and epic adventures.

  Session Title: Sins of Our Elders

  Session Description: The people of Yeonido are suffering from an onslaught of bizarre accidents, freak occurrences, and ever-worsening bad luck - but they are powerless to stop it. Can you solve the mystery, heal past wrongs, and make amends with the furious forces at play before innocent lives are lost?

  Content Warnings: Ghosts.

  Game System: Dungeon Bitches (PbtA) - A game about queer women banding together. It’s about trauma. It’s about community. It’s about pain. It’s about survival. But most of all, it’s very gay.

  Session Title: Dungeon Bitches

  Session Description: Disaster lesbians have escaped polite society. What awaits them in the dungeons?

  Content Warnings: Gore, body horror, romance and intimacy between PCs, trauma, mentions of abuse and assault.

  GM: Matt Daley (he/him)

  Game System: Pathfinder 1E, Spheres System - A classic system and an older edition known for high fantasy adventures and creative takes on traditional tropes.

  Session Title: The Fall of Lomrick

  Session Description: You've all been pointed to the hideout of Lomrick, a mysterious criminal mastermind with a penchant for magical experiments. His manse is riddled with every manner of alien peril, all in the name of keeping his ultimate discovery under wraps. Getting inside the grim alchemist's cloister could yield incredible rewards, but perhaps you're more interested in saving those who are trapped in his clutches. Prepare your weapons, your wits, and your spells for a dungeon crawl full of weird science and the pulpiest of pulp monstrosities courtesy of Legendary Games.

• Do I need prior TTRPG experience?

  Not at all. Our GMs are ready to guide players of all experience levels. Whether you’ve never rolled a d20 or you’ve been playing for years, you’ll have a great time.

• What does my ticket support?

  All proceeds benefit Brave Space Alliance, a Black- and trans-led organization serving LGBTQ+ community members on Chicago’s South Side. Your afternoon of gaming directly supports their essential programs.

• May I bring in outside food and beverage?

  We ask that no outside food and beverage other than re-usable water bottles be brought into the venue. We will have prepackaged drinks and snacks available on site.

• Is the venue ADA accessible?

  Yes! It is rated ADA accessible, and there is a side ramp for wheelchair access. If you need specific accommodations, please reach out.

• Is there a parking lot?

  No, unfortunately. There is street parking on Grandville and neighboring streets, but it can be limited. If you're driving, please factor parking time into your commute.

• Can you get there on the CTA?

  Yes! The Berger Park Cultural Center is a short walk from the Granville Red Line stop and the #36 Broadway bus. And there's a stop for the #151 Sheridan bus right outside.
