Paula McLean's Debut Novel Book Launch - Southern Highlands
Event description
Join us for the Southern Highlands launch of The One Remaining, the luminous debut novel by Paula McLean. This tender and beautifully crafted story explores the silences that shape us and the power of reclaiming our stories.
When her sister disappears without a trace, thirteen-year-old Hilary Mason is left with unanswered questions and buried suspicions. Decades later, now a successful novelist, she uncovers her early diaries and begins writing a memoir - a journey that unravels everything she thought she knew about her family, herself, and the nature of memory.
Paula McLean is an advocate for gender equity in Australian literature, patron and immediate past Deputy Chair of the Stella Prize, and patron of Pop In - a domestic violence day centre in the Southern Highlands. Her work illuminates the hidden narratives of women’s lives - the quiet ruptures, unresolved losses, and everyday acts of resilience that shape who we become.
The evening includes drinks and canapes from 5-7pm at the Berkelouw Book Barn in Berrima. Paula will be in conversation with Michaela Bolzan, founder and director of the Southern Highlands Writers’ Festival, followed by book signings.
The One Remaining is proudly published by Fearless Press, an imprint of Bakers Lane Books. Please secure your complimentary tickets below.
