During a time when the world stood still, Bijan Samieivafa found a new way to express himself through art.

A retired accountant, Bijan began experimenting with painting during the COVID-19 pandemic. What started as a creative escape from the uncertainty and isolation of that period gradually evolved into a personal artistic journey. Exploring different materials, techniques, and mixed media, he discovered a new outlet for reflection, imagination, and self-expression.

Pause | درنگ invites visitors to experience the works that emerged from this unexpected chapter of his life. The exhibition reflects the possibilities that arise when we slow down, embrace creativity, and discover new ways of seeing the world.

As Bijan prepares to leave the Bay Area, Diaspora Arts Connection is pleased to present this special exhibition as an opportunity for the community to appreciate his work and celebrate his artistic journey.

Bijan will be present throughout the exhibition, offering visitors an opportunity to meet the artist and learn more about his creative process.

Join us for an afternoon of art, conversation, and community. Light refreshments and snacks will be served.
