When: 8:30am – 3:00pm, Monday 7 November 2022.

Where: Canterbury Functions Centre - Canterbury College, 182 Old Logan Village Road, Waterford.

- Use the Sports Precinct Gate via Old Logan Village Road with plenty of onsite parking.

Who: For Senior Chemistry Teachers – From ANY South-East Queensland Secondary School.

Cost: FREE EVENT!

BUT… Attendees MUST supply an IA1 Instrument AND Confirmed Student Work Sample for IA2 and IA3, which will be de-identified and shared with event attendees.

Catering: Fully catered Morning Tea, Lunch Break and Afternoon Tea supplied.

Barista coffee will also be available onsite for purchasing.

Description: These events aim to help Senior Science Teachers identify evidence in student work, and reliably link it to the ISMG descriptors it demonstrates.

The day will involve reviewing a variety of Confirmed Student Work Samples for IA2 and IA3 from a range of schools, so attendees can see how other schools are successfully interpreting ISMGs.

There will also be discussion around drafting and authentication techniques that schools are using, and a sharing of endorsed IA1 instruments.

The event will be based around professional discussions amongst our Science colleagues, rather than presenter delivered content.

A QCAA representative will also be present for a Q&A session in the afternoon.

A summary package of the day will be prepared afterwards and supplied to all attendees.

Attendance will initially be capped at ONE teacher per school per subject, to allow the maximum number of schools to participate.

This year’s event will be in-person ONLY on the day of the subject’s external exam.
