Introduction to NVDA Training

Nonviolent direct action is a powerful set of principles and practices, that activists all around the world use to disrupt the status quo, challenge oppression, have their demands met and keep each other safe.This 2.5 hour interactive training by experienced activists will touch on a topics including:
- The history of nonviolent direct action;
- How (not) to engage with Police and counterprotesters;
- De-escalation.We may also look at crowd work, including nonviolently resisting arrest.This training is hosted by Climate Liberation Aotearoa in support of all climate, environment, and social justice related causes. We support the liberation of the Palestinian people, and expect that this training will be particularly helpful for further Palestine related actions very soon.We strongly recommend that activists participate in NVDA trainings before taking action.
