Event description

Understory Art & Nature Trail, Northcliffe

3.30pm, Thursday 5th October

During October the Peacock Spiders come out to play in the Southern Forests .

These miniature, yet magnificently coloured and patterned beauties rumble and romp, while most humans are oblivious to their existence.

As the inspiration for our latest sculptural addition to the Understory Art and Nature Trail, it seemed October was the perfect time to celebrate the launch of Megan Evans’ exquisite hand painted china tea set, called ‘Peacock Spider Comes to Tea’.

Featuring 12 species of peacock spider local to the South West, this whimsical work will increase awareness of the abundance of species diversity in our natural world, and perhaps surprise people about the possibilities of china painting.

The sculpture launch includes a light afternoon tea and artist talk on site by Megan Evans. Entry to the trail is free from 3.30-4.30pm.
