Science Cafe - The Science of Art
Event description
At this Science Cafe we're getting creative with science communicator, Dr Claire Pannell.
Find out about some of the ways art is made using science. Claire will share with you how she has combined science into her art and music explorations. Find out how to make music from plants, put a photo on a leaf, and create a huge range of colours from plant dyes.
This event is suitable for all ages and we will get to have a go at making a plant chemistry artwork to take home and take home information on how to make your own leaf sun photograph.
Dr Claire Pannell started her career journey as a research scientist in agricultural science before becoming a science communicator, educator and Sci-artist. Claire has recently moved to Mandurah to start her own business called SciTEAM after 15 incredible years as a manager at Scitech.
This event is part of our 'Science Cafe' event series, where we learn new things over food and drink at a local cafe.
