Peel Community Foundation: Capability Insights Forum

Join us in conversation to explore what is the potential of our communities and how do we develop the conditions and capability to unlock it?  

When we talk about capability, we mean the skills, knowledge, confidence, connections and opportunities that enable people to participate, contribute and thrive in their community.

Peel Community Foundation, in partnership with Peel Development Commission and Peel Community Development Group, is bringing together people from across education, community and support services, government and industry for a day of learning, listening, sharing and connection.

We want to better understand our communities now: the strengths we can build on, the barriers people are experiencing, emerging needs and opportunities, and the conditions and capabilities that will help individuals and communities participate, contribute and shape their own futures.

The forum will build on the significant regional knowledge already captured through People of Peel and Peel Away the Mask. Rather than starting again, we want to bring these insights into conversation with current experience and local knowledge – identifying what has changed, what we are learning and where there may be opportunities to strengthen our collective response.

What do we hope to achieve?

The forum is an opportunity to bring together different perspectives from across Peel and develop a stronger shared understanding of our communities – its strengths, challenges and potential.

Through the conversations and connections made on the day, we hope to:

• deepen our collective understanding of what enables people to participate, contribute and thrive;

• identify strengths, gaps and emerging opportunities across the region;

• build connections between people and organisations working towards similar outcomes; and

• explore where greater collaboration and shared purpose could help realise Peel’s potential.

The conversations and insights will be captured through visual scribing and a short insights report and shared with participants, creating a regional resource that others can draw on in their own work.  The insights will also help inform the Binjareb District Leadership Group’s annual planning and Peel Community Foundation’s future philanthropic investment and partnerships.

Join us for a day of learning, listening, sharing and connection with colleagues from across the region.

This event is supported by the Peel Development Commission, Peel Community Development Group, Peel Thunder Football Club and Bendigo Bank Halls Head.
