November Beginner Rope classes - Peer Rope Melbourne
Event description
Great news! Peer Rope Melbourne is introducing new Beginner classes on Tuesday nights, making it the perfect opportunity to explore the world of Shibari. This course is designed for beginners and anyone who needs to refresh the basics.
During these classes, we'll talk about the history of shibari, terminology, the different types of ropes, and which one to choose and how to take care of them. We'll also focus on creating good communication and setting and maintaining healthy boundaries between the rigger and the rope model to create a safe and fun experience.
The instructors will guide you through essential traditional ties, such as single and double-column ties, leg and arm ties, half-hitch and much more, ensuring you develop a strong foundation in rope bondage. You'll start to have an understanding of tensions and frictions and their importance in creating safe ties. With no prior experience required, this course promises to be an exciting journey into the captivating art of Shibari. Don't miss out on this incredible opportunity to expand your skills and connect with like-minded individuals.
The classes are $80 per person, for all four classes, with limited numbers.

Elisa, the owner and creator of Intimate Horizons, is managing Peer Rope Melbourne since 2021.
Elisa's bio:
An experienced kinkster, Elisa has worked as a pro-domme in both her old home and new. Since moving to Sydney, she has opened new avenues into tantra and body awareness practices. Elisa's exploration of the rope scene began in 2013, initially as a bunny and later as a rigger. For her, ropes are a medium of communication, creating a sensual and erotic interplay between pleasure and pain. In April 2021, she started teaching at Peer Rope Melbourne and plans to continue offering beginner and intermediate classes in 2022.
Elisa's latest venture is managing and running classes at Peer Rope Melbourne. Yet, her most significant accomplishment to date is the creation of Intimate Horizons. This organization embodies her commitment to spreading awareness about diverse expressions of sexuality and relationships. It is a platform born out of Elisa's desire for people to understand and respect consent in varying situations and dynamics. Through Intimate Horizons, Elisa continues to challenge conventions, encouraging others to explore their own intimate horizons.

Juliette Bio:
Juliette picked up a rope in the first Melbourne lockdown and hasn’t put it down since. Juliette trains extensively with various local schools and teachers, including Scott Haruteru (Yukimura-ryu), Ash Snare (Rope Dojo), Harley Okami (Adalia Shibari Studio), Von Riga and Melbourne Community Rope, as well as interstate and international teachers Supaku (Kanna-ryu), Tifereth and Yagami Ren (Yagami-ryu).
