Embark on the next stage of your Shibari journey with Peer Rope Melbourne and acquire new skills through our Intermediate Shibari Classes.

Every month, we will start a different series with a different teacher.

Intermediate classes are designed for those who have already obtained a solid foundation in rope bondage. Whether you participated in the Beginner 2 course at PRM, a previous Intermediate class or course with us or in other schools, and want to keep learning. In each class, we will learn a different tie, focusing on mastering its technique, aesthetics, and emotional connection. From traditional patterns to innovative variations, you will discover the beauty and power that lies within each knot.

In April, the classes will be held on Tuesday nights, starting from June 4, from 7 PM to 9 PM, and your instructor will be @barefoot_juliette.

THIS MONTH WE WILL BE FOCUSING ON Diamond Patterns

June 4th - Hishi Chest Harness

June 11th - Hishi Futo

June 18th - Hishi Strappado

June 25th - Hishi Mermaid

*** The schedule of our lessons can vary depending on the overall skill level of the class. At PRM, prioritizing safety over speed is paramount. We ensure that each participant can proficiently and safely execute the previous tie before moving on to a new one. ***

Requirements:

To ensure a fulfilling learning experience, we recommend that participants possess a good understanding of beginner-level skills, particularly the single and double-column ties. Familiarity with concepts such as tensions, frictions, and proper rope usage will be advantageous. Additionally, proficiency in executing fluid rope movements, or a willingness to develop this skill, is highly encouraged.

Please note that to fully engage in the classes, each participant will require a rope model to tie with. This person will be your practice partner throughout the session, allowing you to refine your techniques. If you are unable to bring a model, you are still welcome to attend as an assistant, although your participation in certain portions of the class may be limited.

Also, you will need your own ropes (at least 4-5 ropes, each 8 meters long) and safety shears.

The cost for each class is $25 per person or $50 per couple (rigger + rope model).

If you book all month the cost is only $80 per person (or $160 per couple) for all four classes.

THIS MONTH THE TALENTED JULIETTE WILL BE TEACHING BEGINNER 2 CLASSES.

Juliette Bio: Juliette picked up a rope in the first Melbourne lockdown and hasn’t put it down since. She is fascinated by the many unique ways Shibari connects people through the medium of rope, in a manner that explores, transcends, and challenges our pre-existing notions of what it means to be in a relationship with another human being.

Juliette trains extensively with various local schools and teachers, including Scott Haruteru (Yukimura-ryu), Ash Snare (Rope Dojo), Harley Okami (Adalia Shibari Studio), Von Riga and Melbourne Community Rope, as well as interstate and international teachers Supaku (Kanna-ryu), Tifereth, and Yagami Ren (Yagami-ryu).

She performs nationally and internationally, drawing people into her engaging and entertaining shows, including at Shibari Lounge and various public events. Juliette loves sharing her passions and knowledge with others and brings over a decade of education and group facilitation experience to Peer Rope Melbourne.

F.A.Q.

Q: Who are the Intermediate Classes suitable for?

A: The Intermediate Classes are designed for individuals who have already obtained a solid rope bondage foundation and wish to further develop their skills and techniques.

Q: Do I need to bring a partner/model to attend the classes?

A: Yes, to fully engage in the classes, it is recommended that each participant brings a rope model to tie with. This person will be your practice partner throughout the session. However, if you are unable to bring a model, you can still attend and observe, though your participation in certain portions of the class may be limited.

Q. What if I miss one of the classes?

A. If you miss just one of the other 4 classes, don't worry. Our teachers always review the main ties, taught in the previous session, at the beginning of each class, ensuring you stay on track with the material.

A: While it is recommended to attend the entire series to progress steadily and build upon the knowledge gained, it is possible to attend individual classes if space permits.
