Peggys Beach - First Nations Perspective Nature Walk
Event description
***Please note the due to the severe weather forecast for the 18th of October the event has been rescheduled to the 4th of November at the same time******
Join Nicole King and Bridget Jupe (Kingborough Council) for a guided nature walk where you'll gain a deeper understanding of the land. We begin with an Acknowledgement of Country, honoring the traditional custodians and their connection to this place. From a First Nations perspective, you'll learn about the rich plant life within the reserve, including traditional knowledge of native plants and their uses. As we journey through the landscape, you'll also uncover the history of the reserve and explore how it has been used and cared for over the ages.
The walk will be slow paced but on some uneven, informal tracks. Walking poles are encouraged if you require additional stability on this terrain.
Parking is along Staff Road near the main entrance to the reserve at the end of Dickson street
Please wear closed toe shoes and layered clothing appropriate for the conditions on the day
