Please join us for a community conversation at the University of Western Sydney (WSU) Kingswood Campus to learn more about the Voice Referendum.

The Uluru Statement from the Heart has extended a generous and powerful invitation to all Australians. We are embracing this invitation and asking you to join us on this journey of understanding the Voice and constitutional recognition.

Together, with a fantastic panel of speakers, we will talk about why constitutional recognition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people through a Voice to Parliament is a crucial step in the walk towards reconciliation as a country. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions, share their feedback and learn about ways to engage in their local communities.

It is an opportunity for Australians across the country to come together, learn, and engage in a constructive conversation about the Voice Referendum and its potential impact.

Speakers:

Jade Appo-Ritchie

Jade is from the Bunda Clan of the Gooreng Gooreng Nation and grew up on her Grandmother’s Country – Bundaberg, QLD. Jade is the General Manager of Business Development at Tellus Holdings and is a spokesperson for the Yes23 campaign.

Heidi Bradshaw

Heidi is a proud Wiradjuri and Yorta Yorta woman, who grew up on Darug and Gundungurra country. As the CEO of Narang Bir-Rong Aboriginal Corporation and with personal, familial and professional experience within foster care and kinship care, she has a deep understanding of the issues facing her Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community and has devoted her life to breaking the cycle.

Glen Liddiard

Glen is a former professional rugby league footballer who played for the Parramatta Eels, Penrith Panthers, North Sydney and South Queensland in the NSWRL/ARL. He now plays a crucial role as the Panthers Indigenous education and welfare officer.

Rev Bill Crews

Rev. Bill Crews AM is a much-loved Australian. He is a radio broadcaster and founder The Rev. Bill Crews Foundation which gives 200,000 meals to the poor and homeless every year. The Foundation also teaches poverty-stricken kids to read. Reverend Crews has been honoured by Rotary, he’s been named Humanitarian of the Year and awarded an Order of Australia for his services to the disadvantaged and homeless youth.

Reverend Crews has also been included in the National Trust’s list of 100 “National Living Treasures”. In addition, he’s been awarded the “Ernst & Young Social Entrepreneur of the Year” award and named as one of Australia’s 100 most influential people.
