Celebrating the People at the Heart of Palliative Care in Tasmania

In partnership with Clarence City Council, Palliative Care Tasmania invites you to our Mini Palliative Care Expo where we'll delve into all things palliative care.

Event Highlights:

10:00 am: PCT to welcome everyone to the event and introduce the people at the heart of palliative care.

10:15am -11:00am: Join in a thought-provoking death café, fostering meaningful conversations about end-of-life care with Leigh Connell from Tassie Death Cafe.

11am - 11:45am: Panel Discussion - Engaging guest speakers celebrating the compassionate individuals at the heart of palliative care. Panel: Hospice Volunteer, Consumers - lived experience, Specialist Palliative Care Nurse, End of Life Doula, Aged Care Worker

12:00pm- 12:10pm: Sarah De Jong introduces the 1000 Hearts Project

at 12:10 people can either;

Join PCT staff and Sarah Dejong in a heart-making workshop, exploring the concept of compassionate communities or

Attend a short walk led by Hospice Volunteer Manager (South) Stephanie Kirman Meikle to explore grief in a supportive environment (weather permitting).
The walk will leave the Howrah Community Centre along the Clarence Foreshore trail, as far as 'Second Bluff' and finish at a cafe with coffee and cake for those interested in the walking through grief program or hospice volunteering or who has recently had a loss in their life.

There will also be a special webinar event that will be screened live at 2:30-3:45pm with another panel of health professionals, volunteers and consumers that people can stay and listen to in a supported environment with PCT staff.

You can either register your interest in advance or simply show up on the day.

The event is accessible for all with DDA compliant access and toilet facilities, along with change table facilities for kids.
