People need People
Event description
For many of us, Covid 19 has revealed the fragility of the system(s) in which we live and which we are a part of. Health, work, education, food, community, culture, politics, technology… the normal assumptions about each of these areas of our lives have been challenged and questioned by this recent experience. Some may never be the ‘same’ again. How are we to move forward from within this new perspective? What ‘normal’ are we experiencing, seeking to return to or wishing to create?
In this series of public discussions you are invited to explore the complexity of this moment, of yourself and of other people, and to shift your perception through a process of shared, mutual learning.
The future we are entering is without doubt one of the most challenging
we have faced. Learning together how we might live into this complexity -
without resorting to ‘easy’ solutions that attempt to exist outside of
paradox - are what these sessions are about.

People need People is a warm data lab process developed by Nora Bateson. It originated in the work and ideas of her father Gregory Bateson, one of the foremost systems thinkers of his time. To find a little more out about Warm data then please visit this link or this one.
Carole and Richard are both certified hosts for Warm Data Labs and have also been working over the time of Covid in the online environment hosting 'People need People' spaces on Zoom.
We will create a safe space for us all, one where we can pause from the familiar flow of task and attention, a place where we are free to explore ideas, perspectives, histories and dreams together.
We are offering a series of five 1.5 hour sessions throughout August and September. While the experience is cumulative (so it would be wonderful if you were able to join us for each session) it is not a requirement to attend every session. We have set up the ticket options to reflect this as much as we can. Please choose a ticket for each session you plan to attend or for the full series if you can make it.
