Acquire knowledge, skills and confidence in providing palliative care for people with a life-limiting illness, and their families.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand key concepts relating to cultural-responsiveness and palliative care
  • Be aware of cultural and linguistic diversity (CALD) in the Australian palliative care context
  • Engage in self-reflection to develop cultural competence
  • Be better able to care for, and communicate with people from CALD backgrounds who are affected by life-limiting illness
  • Embed culturally-responsive practices in palliative care settings.

Target audience:

All health care professionals, including those working in palliative care.

Facilitator: Kerrie Cunningham

Kerrie has been working in palliative care and providing education for over 15 years, across a variety of settings, including rural remote Australia and metropolitan Melbourne. Kerrie is dedicated to helping enhance and enrich health professionals understanding of palliative care, which in turn leads to improved patient and family outcomes.
