Performance Training & Creation - USYT Autumn Workshops
Event description
This energising 3- day workshop will have a dual focus on performance and creation.
Through drama games and performative exercises, we will explore the skills required to be an engaging performer. In addition, through a series of fun creation tasks, we will begin to explore some ways we can make exciting theatre together.
Some of the performance skills we will explore include:
-Revisiting of the different levels of energy and how they contribute to dynamic performance
-Development of physical impulse and its expression through gesture, shape and words
-The courage required to take risks onstage and how that can build our confidence as performers
-Responsiveness to the group body (or ensemble), and the wide range of possibilities that can open up from that space
-A rich physical ‘toolkit’ that can support the physical and vocal creation of character
We will also look at how we can collaborate to make original pieces of theatre together as a group.
All are welcome- also if you do not have any experience with drama!
Please note: Though this workshop is a continuation of Understorey Youth Theatre’s Summer Program, you are very welcome to attend even if this is your first time.
