Event description

PermacultureWestPermaculture Educator's Alliance and Northern Permies (NAPES) Perth are delighted to invite you to join us for a special evening with one of the pioneering women of Permaculture, Rosemary Morrow.  Rowe will be launching her latest book Earth Restorer's Guide to Permaculture and will lead a very important and engaging discussion on "Permaculture as a restorative practice", one of the main reasons why she wrote this book.  This latest book offers hope and calls for action, and is endorsed by the United Nations for their Decade of Ecosystems Restoration. There will be lots of time for Q & A.

Please bring a plate of food to share. Tea and coffee will be provided.

About Rowe Morrow:

Rosemary Morrow was born in Perth, WA. She was claimed early by the Earth; plants, animals, stones, and weather. Some years in the Kimberleys as a young girl confirmed it. She trained in agriculture science with which she was very disappointed, then moved to France where she lived in the L’Arche community. Later at Jordans Village in England, she realised she would become a Quaker.

Rowe's turning point was when she did the Permaculture Design Course which provided the basis for her concern for Earth restoration. She considers permaculture to be a ‘sacred knowledge’ to be carried and shared with others. Since then, when asked, she has travelled to teach the PDC to others who, due to circumstances, could not access it any other way. This took her to immediate post-war Vietnam as well as Cambodia, Uganda, Ethiopia and many other countries and communities experiencing the serious effects of climate change. Rowe’s present concern is to make teaching sustainable and encourage others to succeed her as teachers.

Rowe is also the author of other permaculture books such as Earth User's Guide to PermacultureEarth User's Guide to Teaching Permaculture, and A Good Home Forever.

Rowe will be in WA to teach a Permaculture Teachers Training course as well as to launch her latest book. As it is a rare occasion to have Rowe Morrow visit WA, this evening at the lovely Earthwise community-centre venue is not to be missed.
