A permaculture festival ran for and soon by the youth.

At this gathering, we will be talking about the permaculture principle "Observe and Interact" and unveiling our "Soil Your Undies" results!! Plus we are celebrating our one year anniversary!

Join us as we gather like-minded youth from North, Central and South America, and around the world to talk about permaculture. We are creating a safe platform for youth to share and practice practivism (practical activism). Let's build community, inspiring one another as we share our experiences and ask questions!

Established in 2002 by Oglala Lakota tribal member, Bryan Deans, OLCERI provides motivated individuals opportunities for greater self-sufficiency by teaching traditional, Oglala Lakota Sioux skills in gardening, regenerative agriculture, permaculture, holistic management, appropriate technologies, horse capture/adoption programs, and low-cost sustainable home-building initiatives.

Our guidance comes from permaculture and the Lakota medicine wheel, a symbol of the interconnectedness of our world. The seven human needs represented by the medicine wheel dovetails with the three ethics and principles of Permaculture.

OLCERI leads through servant leadership, a practice rooted in Lakota tradition, and in this way, we will strengthen and empower the people of Pine Ridge and revitalize the Oglala Lakota culture.
