What do you do when you buy a run down cottage in a quiet corner of town? These days such a building would likely be smashed into a squillion pieces and sent to landfill - but not if you are a Permaculturist.

This cottage was carefully dismantled and stored to be reborn as the building materials, along with a tree that had to come down, for a brand new house built from the ground up using Permaculture Design.

We're heading down to have a squiz at the house, complete with the inside out weatherboards, and the wrap around veggie garden, and how waste is dealt with on the property.

But wait, there's more! After the tour we'll go across the road for a shared picnic, and then have a look at some of the vegetation work being done along the creek, and how neighbours can work together to increase food production.
