A bit more about your hosts...

Mike Drysdale - Who is Mike?

Mike is our very own brand storyteller (and General Manager of Dear Storyteller.) This means that he spends half of his time researching, workshopping, and in focus groups. The other half is spent using that evidence to develop a brand’s unique story via a creative expression. His ability to chameleon between the left and right side of his brain a) should be studied and b) is the reason why Mike is involved in almost every piece of work that passes through our agency doors and digital mailboxes.

Mike’s work in the space of digital media, content generation, and creative strategy has seen him lead campaigns for brands such as Jamaica Blue, Adobe, and Hisense. Not to mention that he’s the lead strategist at our sister agency, Lush the Content Agency; meaning he’s the go-to person when it comes to strategy development and content creation.

Clare Reid - Who is Clare?

Clare takes on a senior creative role at Dear Storyteller at the same time as thriving in her senior copywriter position at Lush the Content Agency. She dedicates her time to building narratives that connect with readers and give brands and individuals a voice. Clare holds a Master of English in Transnational Creative Writing from Stockholm University and was recently long-listed for the 2019 Fish Anthology prize in creative nonfiction. When Clare’s not putting pen to paper – or fingertips to MacBook to be more accurate – she can also be found conducting communication workshops in the art of effective writing.

In a strategic capacity, Clare has worked to deliver branding communications for Curtin University, UWA, HIF, Telethon Speech and Hearing, and St. Johns. With a career history in advertising and public relations, Clare’s editorial and copywriting work is always centred on a strategic vision – a value that fares well alongside Mike’s dedication to the art of strategy. So you can see why these two work so well together.
