Perth Safety & Injury Forum 2024
Event description
Perth Safety & Injury Forum 2024
Welcome to the second jointly hosted Perth forum by the WHS Foundation and the NSCA Foundation, Australia’s two major not-for-profit, work health and safety, member-based, business community-focused organisations.
Both organisations have a long and proud history of positively influencing work health and safety across Australian industries and workplaces. We share a common origin with both organisations deriving from the original NSCA. The NSCA Foundation evolved from the NSCA, founded nearly 100 years ago in 1927. The WHS Foundation was founded over 50 years ago in 1972 as IFAP, which originated from the NSCA (Western Division) in the early 1960’s.
The NSCA Foundation and the WHS Foundation are both proud members of the Asian Pacific Occupational Health and Safety Organisation (APOSHO), a large group of mainly NGO/NFP organisations with a common goal of advocating for improvement in work health and safety across the AP region. We also have both had the honour of hosting an annual APOSHO Conference.
Our proud intertwined history and commonality in purpose and service delivery, including hosting respective annual work health and safety awards programs, assists us in again joining forces to host another Perth forum.
This year, on the second anniversary of Western Australia’s modernised work health and safety laws, our State is on the verge of the introduction of new modernised workers’ compensation and injury management legislation.
STATE OF AFFAIRS: Work Health & Safety and Workers’ Compensation & Injury Management in Western Australia. With a focus on Psychosocial, Risks, Mental Health & Related Injury.
We welcome you to our Perth Safety & Injury Forum 2024, with another impressive line-up of highly respected speakers on the two key themes:
SAFETY: Work Health & Safety
About the WHS laws two years after introduction, and on psychosocial hazards and risks.
INJURY: Workers’ Compensation & Injury Management
About the new workers’ compensation and injury management laws, effective on 1 July 2024.
