Pest and Weed Control Seminar
Event description
This full day event brings together field experts, contractors and stakeholders to improve our capacity to manage and control the pest and weed species across South Gippsland
There will be the opportunity to speak directly to weed and pest control contractors working in South Gippsland. It will be a great chance to ask questions, learn about equipment, chemicals, licensing and more. In addition SGLN staff will be available to talk too.
Presentations from field experts will include;
Tim Bloomfield, mentor for the Victorian Rabbit Action Network (VRAN). Tim has vast experience in land management and rehabilitation, particularly pest animal control. He will be discussing options for Rabbit and Fox control.
Kelly Pardew, Kelly is a leading biosecurity officer for Agriculture Victoria. She will discuss weed control responsibilities and options, where to find the best resources for weed control and how to get started with a weed management plan.
Matt Khoury and Sophie McCraken-Evans, Matt and Sophie, Rangers at Bass Coast Parks and Reserves; they will share stories of the positive impact pest control plays in healthy native ecosystems.
Lunch and Refreshments will be provided.
In addition to this event SGLN will establish two weed or pest control groups. These groups will have the opportunity to join two workshops with relevant field experts and receive assistance in developing a weed/pest management plan for their property.
