Join Nongkrong and Melbourne Bergerak for a special screening and fundraiser of the acclaimed new documentary, Pesta Babi: Kolonialisme di Zaman Kita (Pig Feast: Colonialism in our time).

Directed by Dandhy Laksono and Cypri Dale, this investigative documentary takes viewers into the heart of Papua. The film follows Indigenous communities in Merauke whose forests and ancestral lands are being transformed into vast industrial plantations under state-backed “food security” and energy projects.

Recent weeks have seen renewed violence and repression in Papua, including the disappearance and coercion of Mama Yasinta, a prominent West Papuan activist and one of the film’s key protagonists, as well as escalating state violence in Intan Jaya.

In light of these recent events, Nongkrong and Melbourne Bergerak present a screening and fundraiser of this urgent and timely work.
