Pet Week at Christ Church Cathedral
Event description
Bring your beloved pet along to Christ Church Cathedral during Pet Week (29 Sept - 3 Oct) have a tour inside the building with a special photo and optional blessing. All proceeds to SPCA (dry pet food donations are also gratefully received for the local SPCA foodbank).
This is a week of celebrating our animals and all the joy they bring! All proudly supported by Petdirect.
The week wraps up with a special service celebrating St Francis of Assisi (the Patron Saint of animals) Feast Day behind the fences on Saturday 4 October at 10.00am — or at the Transitional Cathedral if it rains (pets very welcome).
Before registering for a visit during Pet Week at the Cathedral, please carefully consider whether your pet is suitable for this unique experience. Your animal should be comfortable around strangers, other pets and new environments. Consider your pet's behaviour during stressful or exciting situations. Dogs must remain leashed at all times and cats or other animals should be secure in carriers or harnesses. Please only register if you can maintain control and immediately address any issues that may arise during your visit.
Please: wear sturdy shoes and bring bags to pick up your animal poop. We will provide hard hat and high viz and a rubbish bin,
