This special afternoon, titled “Peter Schiller: This Is Your Carey Life,” will be a heartfelt tribute filled with laughter, stories, and appreciation for a man who gave his all. Whether you knew Peter as the fiery and passionate footy coach, the much-loved School Officer, or the larger-than-life figure around the Quad and Sandell Oval, this is your chance to reconnect, share memories, and honour the rich legacy he leaves behind.

Peter Schiller: A Legacy at Carey

  • First XVIII Coach: With unmatched passion and theatrical sideline energy, Schills led Carey’s footy teams through some of their most memorable seasons, including a famous near-premiership in the early ‘90s. His blend of fire, humour and deep care for his players made him a legend of school sport.

  • Pastoral Leader: In his role as School Officer, Peter became a confidante and guide to countless students navigating the ups and downs of school life. His office walls, lined with smiling photos and memorabilia, tell the story of a man who truly knew — and was known by — his community.

  • Friend & Mentor: Colleagues speak of his wit, warmth, and wise counsel. Students remember his compassion, his jokes, and his unwavering support. Parents, Old Carey Grammarians, and staff alike recognise the unique role Peter played in shaping the spirit of Carey.

If Schills has been part of your Carey story, we’d love for you to be part of his.
