Event description

Expression of Interest are now open to be a part of PH(R)ASE//:1 - 'Pitch Lab'.

Have you got a new choreographic idea you want to try? Do you need some outside eyes and bodies to try it out on?

PH(R)ASE//:1 - 'Pitch Lab' is a pilot choreographic ideas project led by two of Dance Makers Collective (DMC) Co-Artistic Directors, Miranda Wheen and Katina Olsen (Wakka Wakka / Kombumerri) for the Northern Rivers region.

Initiated by artist / producer, Philip Channells with support from choreographer, Sarah Bolt (Bundjalung), the project's aim is to support local cultural and contemporary dance makers and collaborators, physical theatre practitioners and experimental performance artists based in the Northern Rivers to propose new performance ideas.

PH(R)ASE//:1 - 'Pitch Lab' is a 3-day immersive peer-to-peer residency where you have an opportunity to bring your vision for a new performance work, share your choreographic processes, and seed new collaborative relationships.

Whether your ideas are brand new or in the early stages of development, this is your chance to experiment, investigate, innovate and connect in a supportive and dynamic environment!

Performance Makers from the Northern Rivers region are invited to submit an Expression Of Interest (EOI), which will be assessed by a panel of industry professionals. You can be a dancer (a First Nations dance artist, be part of a cultural group or a contemporary dance practitioner), a physical theatre performer or an experimental artist working across different artistic modalities. You should be available and willing to collaborate with emerging, mid-career and established artists, testing out their ideas across the 3-day residency.
