Photobook Making and Publishing workshop with Matt Dunne from Tall Poppy Press

PCP is pleased to present a two-day workshop with the founder and owner of Tall Poppy Press, Matt Dunne. Tall Poppy Press is a photobook publisher based in Naarm/Melbourne, Australia aims to publish the best Australian artists' photography books, with a commitment to emerging artists' first books.

In 'Photobook Making and Publishing' participants learn how to approach making their own photobook and walk away with a printed and bound A5 dummy book. The workshop focuses on how photographers can approach their work by editing, sequencing, storytelling and designing their own photobook. Participants then learn some basic bookbinding skills to create their own dummy and finish the workshop by learning about publishing, self-publishing and the ins and outs of making and selling a photobook.

Bookbinding, printing, and book cover materials, light refreshments are included and participants will walk away with their own photobook dummy.

Matt Dunne (b Melbourne,1989) is a publisher, writer and photographer living in Melbourne. As the founder and owner of Tall Poppy Press, he publishes photobooks from Australian artists, with an emphasis on emerging artists and first books. He has self-published a range of his own work and also had his own monograph published by VOID (Athens). As a writer, he has reviewed many significant books and contributed writing to C4 Journal, PhotoCollective and The Heavy Collective among others.
With a background in Education, Matt is an engaging and joyful teacher.
