Photography Workshop in the Fitzgerald Biosphere
Event description
The Fitzgerald Biosphere (FB) is internationally and nationally recognised for its high biodiversity richness, species endemism and high level of threats, as it is part of the international Southwest Biodiversity Hotspot. An extensive renomination process from 2010 – 2017 saw a rezoning of the FB to adhere to United Nations Education Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) criteria. It comprises wild natural lands, estuaries, coastlines and seascapes, productive farmlands, with the enterprise and lifestyles of thriving agricultural, coastal and mining communities. It has strong indigenous Noongar and European histories and includes the small towns of Bremer Bay and Jerramungup in its west, and Hopetoun and Ravensthorpe in its east.
