Do you want to learn more about using your camera to get that all important pic. Learn from one of Australia's most highly regarded nature photographers, Georgina Steytler, who is a nature photographer with a passion for flora, fauna, ethics and conservation.

About Georgina Steytler: Georgina is an award winning Australian nature photographer with a passion for birds, ethics and conservation.

Her interest in photography became a passion many years ago when she began volunteer work with BirdLife WA - BirdLife Australia. Since then, she has been working to produce images for use by conservation organisations across Australia (for free), as well as teaching the art and ethics of bird photography through workshops, talks and articles.

She has won numerous awards, including winning the Invertebrates: Behaviour category in the Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2018, Bird Photographer of the Year 2020 (Portfolio Prize) and the Australian Geographic Nature Photographer of the Year 2016 (Portfolio Prize), amoung others. In November 2021 Georgina’s first book, For the Love of Birds, was published by Australian Geographic, selling out within 3 months. her latest book For the Love of Flora is a delight and her passion for nature oozes through the pages like nectar from a flower.

Note: Georgina will have her books for sale during the workshop and will also be signing and selling books at the opening of the show on the 9th September at 5:00 p.m. 

She describes herself as a country girl at heart, growing up on an orchard in Donnybrook, a small country town in Western Australia, where she spent hours wandering about the native jarrah and marri bushland developing an enduring love of Australian nature.

For over fifteen years she has been working on various conservation projects as well as teaching the art and ethics of nature photography through workshops, talks and articles, both in Australia and across the world.

You will be walking about on a bush property please wear clothes and footwear that are suitable for the bush, you may have to get down and dirty to grab that all important pic. There will be a 30 - 40 minute lunch break.
